Rosa Peralba, a precious marble with high compactness and extreme durability, is characterised by a reddish-purple hue crossed by bold veins and white-grey marbling. The carefully selected blocks used for the MOSTRO collection are carved in a sculptural way and then polished by hand to achieve a luminous appearance.
The material used for the collection comes from an old quarry that was disused in the 1990s and located near Brunico, in the north-eastern Italian region of Trentino-Alto Adige.
Travertine, a light-coloured, extremely weather-resistant calcareous sedimentary rock, is characterised by its distinctive wavy veins and marked porosity.
The blocks used for the MOSTRO collection are carefully selected and modelled by cutting the vein parallel to the layering planes, and are not stuccoed, so as to preserve their characteristic cavities.
The material comes from an ancient quarry originally from the Pleistocenic era, and located in Tivoli, a town near Rome, in the central Italian region of Lazio.
